WSA policies are set by a Board of Directors composed of seven members. Five of the Board members are interested, local residents appointed alternately by the City Council and Mayor of the City of Douglasville and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and Commission Chairman to serve five-year staggered terms. The Mayor of the City of Douglasville and the Chairman of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners both serve as ex-officio voting members of the Authority. The Board appoints the Executive Director who serves by contract.

Board of Directors Meeting Schedule
The WSA Board of Directors holds a worksession on the last Monday of each month where it hears presentations and recommendations in detail from the Executive Director and staff and discusses pending projects and purchases. It meets in a voting session the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to vote on those issues discussed at the worksession, to approve the Minutes of the preceding voting session, to receive a monthly Status Report from the Executive Director, and to listen to comments from any participating citizens. All are public meetings, and are held at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Administration Building located at 8763 Hospital Drive in Douglasville.
You are always welcome to attend. If you would like to address the Board about a particular concern of yours, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early. To ensure the meetings are run as efficiently and as smoothly as possible, a meeting procedure is followed.
