In order to provide the best quality drinking water possible, WSA relies on the customers for help, so the education and understanding of our customers is important. Below are some of the ways we offer to educate the public.
We hold public meetings when we're about to begin a project which could be controversial or might effect a large number of residents.
We hold workshops for the public to teach such things as how to make a rain barrel and what plants are drought tolerant.
Newsletters full of helpful tips and information are mailed out quarterly in the bills.
WSA has contracted with the Douglas County School System to teach water stewardship in grades 1-7 as part of the basic science and earth science curriculum each year.
Tours are offered at the water treatment plant and at a wastewater treatment plant.
If you would like more information about any of these topics, please give us a call at (770) 949-7617.
