This position will be responsible for a variety of duties including the ability to perform accurate reads of residential/commercial water meters on assigned routes within established time standards, using a hand-held device or drive by unit. Must consistently strive to maintain an error factor of less than 2 percent. Perform special readings and re-checks as required. Check that meters are functioning properly and that associated radio read equipment is connected as designed. Begins and terminates service to customers as needed.
Water Plant Operator Trainee:
This individual will receive on the job training on the daily operation of a 23 million gallon a day Surface Water Plant. This individual will receive training and skills required to operate and maintain a drinking water plant while working to obtain a class 3 Water System Operator license from Georgia. This individual must obtain Georgia certification as a Class 3 Water System Operator within one year of employment. Must have high school Diploma or GED. Some college course work in mathematics, chemistry, and other science desirable. This individual will possess excellent math & science skills, a desire to work in a laboratory atmosphere, a great attitude, and be available to work the evening or night shifts following training. Starting pay $34,238 and includes all benefits.
Water Plant Operator:
Job duties include day-to-day operations of newly renovated 23 MGD drinking water treatment plant. Applicants must possess a Georgia Class 3 Water Operator License or higher, an excellent attitude, and be able to work evening or swing shifts. Senior Equipment Operator:
Job duties include operating wheeled and track vehicles and other moderately complex construction equipment. Operate, service, and perform minor maintenance on equipment for transporting personnel and materials. Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License – Class A CDL.
Job duties include work of routine difficulty in manual labor involving physically demanding unskilled and limited semi-skilled tasks. Works as a member of water, wastewater, or construction crew maintaining water and/or sewer lines. This position requires the employee to be on-call on a rotating basis.
