PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
The Douglasville – Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (“WSA”) is seeking a Professional Engineer to provide engineering services associated with, but not necessarily limited to, the Authority's Stormwater Utility. WSA’s stormwater utility, formed in 2003, has become both a leader and a model for newly forming stormwater maintenance utilities. In 2006, WSA was the recipient of the first-ever awarded “Outstanding Stormwater Management Program of the Year” award issued by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (“GAWP”). In 2009, GAWP presented WSA with the Georgia Association of Floodplain Management Award for Excellence in Floodplain Management. Additional awards may be viewed at our website: www.ddcwsa.com.

The Authority has an operating budget of $35 million; a five-year capital improvement program of $250 million; and bills over 42,000 accounts per month.

Some of the qualifications for this position include but are not limited to:

•Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Georgia.

•Strengths in hydrology; hydraulics; floodplain management; stormwater management; erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control; project management; grant writing and administration.

•Preferred certifications include: Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) by the Association of State Floodplain Managers, Stormwater Manager Certification by the American Public Works Association, and Certified Level 2 Design Professional by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills
