WSA Receives Cigna Healthcare “Healthy Workplace” Designation

WSA is proud to be a 2023 Healthy Workplace Silver Designation recipient from Cigna Healthcare! The Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation recognizes that a commitment to employee well-being and vitality can impact everything from employee health and satisfaction to company productivity and business performance.

“I am thrilled that we have been awarded the 2023 Healthy Workplace Silver Designation from Cigna Healthcare. This recognition is a first for WSA and a testament to our employees’ dedication and commitment to their health and well-being,” said Executive Director Gil Shearouse.

Looking back at some of our company events, two come to mind. Our annual health fair is an excellent time for employees to gather and get important screenings, such as weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol, in addition to the opportunity to get their annual vaccines. The second event was our inaugural softball game, where we (WSA Waterbears) took on the Hydro Hitters from Clayton County Water Authority.

It was an enjoyable experience that allowed our team to bond with each other and our fellow water professionals while engaging in friendly competition. Moments like these reflect the importance of community. A healthy workforce is essential for maintaining a high level of service and efficiency.

“WSA employees are not just members of our organization— but an integral part of the community fabric. Their well-being, both in and out of the workplace, directly impacts the quality of our award-winning services and the community as a whole,” said Shearouse.

WSA is honored to be recognized for our commitment to fostering a healthy workforce and environment. We look forward to continuing our efforts to maintain a healthy workforce just as passionately as we remain dedicated to providing top-tier water and sewer services to the community!
