Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County and WSA celebrate an unlikely partnership that merges art and water into community education and engagement.
WSA was recently recognized by the Cultural Arts Council (CAC) as the winner of the prestigious “Arts in the Community” award which celebrates an individual, company, or local group that has demonstrated exemplary dedication to championing and inspiring the arts in Douglasville and Douglas County. While some people might not think water and art mix, WSA and the CAC have teamed up on several projects to bring water education to the community in fun and creative ways. Some examples include the “Arts on Fire” painted fire hydrants in downtown Douglasville and the Douglas County School System’s rain barrel decorating contest. WSA is honored to have received this award and look forward to many more out-of-the-box partnerships and programs in the future.
